John and Anne have been married for 25 years and have a daughter and a son. John served in the Army as a cavalry officer, and is now a charity consultant and military historian specialising in leadership training through the medium of the battlefield. He also conducts bespoke battlefield tours. Anne was in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, then worked in the House of Commons, and now runs her own business as a craft bookbinder. They have both travelled widely, and between them speak French, Spanish and Arabic. They are both keen gardeners, and plant enthusiasts can buy plants propagated by Anne if there is something in the garden they particularly like. They own a retired racing greyhound and two whippets.

They moved to Norfolk in 2003 and have come to love Norfolk and what it has to offer. They opened their Bed and Breakfast business in 2009 and delight in sharing what they love about the county with their guests.
